New Project Updates! Sailing in Stormy Comic Waters

We’re officially into 2025 now and what a long 738 days this month has been!

So much of what’s happening in the world now reminds us, in this small corner of entertainment known as comics, of just how lucky we are to be able to do what we do. It seems trivial at times, not gonna lie, but I also know that when life was uncertain in the past, nothing beat curling up to some great comics, and whether just for escape, or something deeper, they helped get me through those times.

There’s plenty of turbulence in our own lil’ comic biz too, with our main distributor filing for bankruptcy, but while the larger industry itself goes through historic distribution changes and upheavals, it’s just a reminder that this is all about direct engagement with you - the readers, fans and pop culture connoisseurs that support our creations. I’m glad that’s what we’ve been focused on more than anything in the past year.

New Comic Surprise! Announcing yFu, four issue mini-series

There have been some updates to the Devil’s Due Studios publishing slate for 2025, including a surprise addition of an all new 4-issue space fantasy miniseries yFu. Debuting this April with the first chapter, “Andre the Patcher” and continuing through July with monthly releases. With stories by yours truly, and art by Travis Hymel and Greg & Fake. If you enjoy vibrant, trippy sci-fi fantasy-like classic French comics or the Dune saga, check it out in stores everywhere in April (or our webstore link going live soon).

yFu: Issue #1 - available in comic shops this April

Since our last major update the Mercy Sparx: Sweet 16 and Breaking Into Comics kickstarters have wrapped and Mercy is currently at the printer!

BIC is in production, and currently live on Kickstarter is Circuits, Seduction, Revenge! issue #1, currently nearing its home stretch week!

Speaking of Mercy Sparx, BRAND NEW stories are in the works with the Daddy Issues mini-series. Expect a detailed update coming soon. For now enjoy the teasers below!

The other Mercy Sparx related projects Club Nephilim and The Big Cover-Up are moving along, with Club Nephilim soon to ship its final 20% of rewards. The Big Cover-Up cover gallery book has 99.99% of its rewards produced except for the book itself. This book has been a long time coming and has been at the printer for several weeks (hopefully it isn’t cursed) - but after a series of challenges is approved on all fronts and just waiting for the printer to hit the press. This one is only available directly from us - not in stores.
