F**k a Multiverse - We're Converging!

This time... it's PERSONAL!

Welcome to Blaylock’s Latest, my New Official 👹Devil’s Due 👹Newsletter

Hey Everyone, Josh Reporting from the Underground!

Welcome to the studio’s… and my personal newsletter - a consolidation of several different mini-letters, now easier to deliver everything happening with Devil’s Due. As I steer the company away from publishing everything itself, and focus on more personalization, it was time for a facelift.

It also didn’t hurt that the system we’ve used for the past decade is being retired. 👀 RIP, Mad Mimi!

As social media algorithms continue their fuckery, manipulating who can see our content and when, email continues to be the MVP of outreach for creators. This is why you’re seeing such an explosion of personal newsletters from your favorite talent!

So What’s the “Latest” Then?

For starters, it’s been a pretty damn busy Summer, which was preceded by an Office move at the end of Spring. I try to keep from throwing around “busy” in my vocabulary, but - guilty!

  • Recently I’ve been doing a ton of press and podcast interviews promoting my newest upcoming effort, The Disavowed, and am currently starting on issue four.

  • Club Nephilim #0 has printed and is in my hands!

  • I’ve started working on plans for the next Mercy Sparx release.

  • Speaking of, our Mercy film option with MGM has expired! So she’s back on the market and currently courting suitors, while another comic was just set up with a major TV network (and I can’t talk about it yet, aargh!). Okay I’ll admit it’s sci-fi. Damn, I’ve said too much!

  • The Devil’s Due Crew is busy prepping the next round of Kickstarters, while also gearing up to help fulfill the next big campaign for the Hack/Slash hardcover Ominbus’s fifth volume from Tim Seeley & Image Comics.

  • The long ago announced 0N1 Hunter X comic by Paul Jenkins and Von Randal saw its first release, as an exclusive hardcover drop to its VIP community.

  • And I’ve done nine conventions since May!

Back to the Keyboard & Sketch Pad

Where I’d love to be “busier” is when it comes to scripts and sketching, so I am very much looking forward into spending more time at the keyboard and on the iPad as I check the items listed above off of my list. I’ve also been opening myself up for commissions more frequently - because hey, if I’m not doing some drawings for people every now and then, what am I here for?! 😄

It’s been a Summer of catch-up games, though, and right now we’re in the middle of delivering on several things that have been cooking for a while.

A Bunch o’ Pretty Pictures

There’s plenty more where this came from, but for now here’s a bunch of pretty pix of everything I just mentioned. If you’d like to check them out in more detail, or snag any, some things are available on the Devil Dealer, with more being added weekly (and several items are linked above). Please follow along on the socials too, even though I just talked shit about them all at the beginning of this letter. We DO still live in the matrix, so we play along.

-Josh Blaylock

*Currently my Facebook is disabled and trapped in some Zuckerbergian Dystopia, so the Devil’s Due Fan page is where to find me. I finally found a lawyer who helps with this kinda thing and hope to have my page back soon (and maybe even the original lost four years ago).

Getting a jump on signing Club Nephilim #0! - this cover by myself and Carlos Moreno on colors.

This cover by Joel H Herrera!

Congrats to 0N1 Force for a great sell through on their exclusive community release!

“Iron Man Animals” themed sketch commission from Big Lick Comic-Con in Roanoke, VA - this was a fun one.

The booth at Tucson Comic-Con

Same booth - with me and the Sworn One, Brian Pulido in front of it!

Millie or Mercy? The Helluva Boss kids love Mercy and the show has caused an uptick in new people discovering her. This cosplay seen at Big Lick Comicon.

Some aged up Powderpuff… Girls? Who’ve SEEN SOME THINGS. In Tucson, AZ.

After Hours hangs in Tucson with James A Owen, Shannon Denton, Jon Layman, and more. I swear there were several over pix without me making this gesture but that’s what they went with, so…

Nothing to do with my stuff. Just one of Jay Fotos’ killer booth displays from Tucson.

A commission from … some con. Lost track 🤔

The booth from Fan Expo Chicago (Rosemont, IL), with a Jenn hiding behind Mercy.
